General-Electric Healthcare Selects LogiTag to implement RFID enabled solution across its supply chain to monitor Vendor-Managed-Inventory of part for assembly, enabling visibility and real-time information for accounting..
LogiTag Systems LTD, a leading provider of RFID solutions and high-value inventory management systems, announces that GE Healthcare Israeli R&D centre selected the company to implement EPC Gen-2 RFID technology in its supply chain, enabling the company and its suppliers to monitor in real time Vendor-Managed-Inventory (VMI). The transition to VMI holds the potential for improved efficiency in GE’s logistics division, but created numerous challenges, such as adequate control over inventory levels and supply-chain visibility for items transported between several facilities.
GE Decided to harness the power of RFID technology to answer these challenges, and have selected LogiTag systems to implement the solution for their needs. The solution is based on the company’s sophisticated LogiPlatform server, which enables GE with the means to control their inventory via a user-friendly web-based interface, and pro-active E-mail and SMS alerts according to product-specific inventory levels.
