Logi-Tag's LogiRack delivers an innovative solution for monitoring and controlling datacenter’s IT equipment and environmental conditions, utilizing state-of-the-art RFID, sensing technologies & management software. Datacenters became one of the most important assets and an imperative infrastructure building block in many organizations, and yet despite their growing complexity and resource consumption, datacenter’s management is still performed in traditional manners utilizing inefficient, offline tools that are not updated with real world data. The implications are inefficient maintenance procedures such as long and manual stocktaking processes, slow & exhausting searches after the location of specific assets, waste of resources due problematic sizing, long downtime due to inability to follow on SLA metrics and damaged equipment because of problematic environmental conditions inside racks. The bottom line is HIGH Total Cost Of Ownership!

The LogiRack system delivers a solution which reduces the TCO by providing capabilities that datacenter managers could only hope for until today.

System Architecture
RFID LAYER
Each of the IT equipment inside a rack is attached with RFID tag. IT assets vary from large storage equipments, through standard servers, and even individual blades, switches etc. The LogiRack system includes custom tags for every size and surface, providing a suitable tag to the equipments.
RACK LEVEL
The rack is installed with highly sensitive antennas, designed to coop with the electro-magnet interferences that exists inside a rack full of IT equipment. The antennas are usually installed on the inside of the rack’s door in an esthetic manner, and are wired to a rack monitoring unit. The rack is also installed with temperature & humidity sensors, and optionally with a door sensor and/or door access control system.
DATACENTER SCOPE
Every several near-by racks are wired to a single rack-mounted controller, which is connected to a central server to which it reports. The controller received the data from the antennas within the rack as well as temperature and humidity information and forwards them to the server. The server can command a controller to trigger ON a light on top of the rack to help IT personnel identify it within the datacenter.
SYSTEM LEVEL
The LogiRack’s server provides an easy-to-use web-based interface to IT personnel in the datacenter. The interface is privileges based, providing each user the functionalities he is allowed to view and perform. A built-in reporting tool enables in-depth data analysis, and SNMP interface forwards the relevant information to existing Network Management systems.
